“ The only way to really enjoy seafood, is in abundance, sand under the feet, the smell of the ocean in the nostrils – right next to the sea” West Coast belief.
This is what De Vette Mossel Beach Seafood Restaurant believes in. We opened the first one some 9 years ago on an isolated beach at Groot Brak Rivier, near Mossel Bay.
Since October 2012 you can also off your shoes at the second De Vette Mossel on our Bushveldt Beach at Hartbeespoort Dam, Gauteng. And now also at a third De Vette Mossel in Namibia at the Walvis Bay Waterfront.
Eat as much as you like – or can! De Vette Mossel (The Fat Mussel) offers much more than perfectly prepared seafood – this is an experience – in unusual and informal surroundings with traditional Cape fishing culture – in true West Coast Style.
Kick off your shoes on a pristine and isolated beach at South African’s favourite holiday town, Mossel Bay in the Garden Route. Sip some wine, gaze over the ocean/or Buschveldt, and indulge in seafood in abundance!
Many thanks to Nic Nortje who took the most photos for this website.
